Sivri (Pointed) Hazelnuts: These are the longer, wider and thicker types. This type of hazelnuts results in more damage while cracking. Therefore, they are rather marketed as shelled nuts. Types such as Sivri and İncekara are available.
Almond-shaped Hazelnuts: They are the varieties that are considerable long, thick and wide. They are generally large and showy but low quality. They are not suitable for cracking and processing. They are consumed as snacks in shells without drying. They have two types as Yuvarlak Badem (Round Almond) and Yassı Badem (Flat Almond).
